I must have checked that tire at least 50 times since the last time I noticed it was flat. Every time it looked fine. Then something made me take the long way back to the front door of my house tonight. I wanted to check the tire again. At first glance it seemed fine. I was tempted to just walk away. I couldn't shake that nagging sense I was overlooking something. So I took my ball stuff inside, and came out to check the tire. For whatever reason I knew it was low. It "looked" alright but I wasn't convinced. I drove to the Co-op and when I checked all the tires, every one was fine . . . except the passenger rear tire. It had only 12 psi. Feeling vindicated I filled it up and drove home.

Walking onto the grass at twenty to six, it seemed by my figuring that we had six players for tonight's ball game. As the ball struck the plate for the first time tonight, we had a full diamond of ten. This, to me, was an exultation.
