The Daily Affirmation
When I should have been, and arguably was somewhere near that, in a moment when all appeared lost, I serendipitously started a conversation that completely took me from that moment. Instead of desolation I found myself somewhere else I wanted to be. And it didn't feel as catastrophic as I expected it might be. While things are not anything even approximating good, I don't feel completely devastated. This is a scenario that I gladly accept, when the alternative is as bleak as it would seem from the outside.
