A psychologist in 1971 set up an experiment where he hired 2 dozen people to be part of an experiment. 12 would be prisoners, 12 would be guards. The design was for the experiment to run 2 weeks to see how the two groups would begin to treat each other.
It had to be shut down after 6 days because both sides went widely out of control
