If you have a limit problem containing a fraction, where the degree of the variable is the same in the numerator and the denominator, then the limit of the function is simply the ratio of the coefficients of the variable.
Example:
lim f(x) = 4x^3 - 10x + 1 = 4
x-> inf. ------------------- ---
5x^3+3x^2-x 5
