Andi
I’m pretty sure there’s something wrong with Andi. At the same time I can’t really pinpoint how
I know this, what it means, or how to resolve it. The only concrete symptoms I can point out is
she hasn’t eaten anything (or so it appears to me) in two days. Nor is she drinking any water or the milk I
put out for her. So my time of concrete
symptoms is relatively short. But call
it intuition, or whatever you want, but I’m just sensing that something is
wrong.
She has one other symptom.
Her body heaves like she’s breathing hard, but at the same time if you
look at her face she doesn’t appear to be panting. I don’t know what that means but its
definitely not usual.
I am frustrated. I
got a sense of premonition that began during Christmas holidays. Something seemed amiss, but I couldn’t nail
it down. She was eating ‘less’ but it
wasn’t nothing. At first I chalked it up
to the fact that I had to buy her different cat food. There was no Kitty Chow on the shelf when I
went to the grocery store, so I picked something new. I told myself that maybe the diminished
eating was just a disinterest in the new food.
The perplexing part is she goes from appearing to be really
straining, to periods of appearing fine.
Just the other day (Wednesday or Thursday) she was energetic enough to
climb the shelves behind me that go to the ceiling, and knock stuff on the
floor. Now she’s sitting on my desk, her
little body pulsing, and she gives me these sad eyes like I need to do
something.
I don’t know what to do.
If it was something clear cut I would do it immediately. But I look at her, her eyes appearing scared
and unsure of what’s happening, and I can’t console her. She wants to sit on my lap again, like she
was doing before and during Christmas.
Now she can’t sit there for 30 seconds before she gets up and walks back
on the desk. I try to pick her up and
she just fusses until I put her down.
I hope that I can take her to the vet tomorrow. And I hope that there’s some kind of solution
to her distress. Because it pains me to
know that she needs me to do something, and I really have no clue what could
make her feel better.

I finished the drawing I've been trying to complete just before hockey.
Someone lent me a stick when I realized I'd forgotten mine.
I got to play hockey for the first time in three weeks and I scored a breakaway goal.
When your niece comes padding into the living room, her hair still wait from the bath, and she trots over to you, climbs up into your lap with her duck blanket, and makes herself comfortable for a little rest, its not a bad feeling.

I brought home a CAD file to work on this evening. I half-way promised a consultant that I would have it done today. Its now 10 o'clock, I've broken two copies of AutoCAD and currently have no viable way to work on this at home. Is it unreasonable to say to myself, I've tried my best but this has to wait until the morning when I can use my work computer?
And pregnancy cause a depression?

Hello World!
I posted a Calvin & Hobbes cartoon to this blog this
evening. I found it while searching the
internet tonight. I kinda liked it. It said something timely, both for everyone
and for me.
Today is about new beginnings. It’s not really, because we carry the baggage
of all our previous years with us. But
when the calendar turns a fresh 01/01, it’s easy to believe we can start over.
So I am again going to try and start over. I will bring with me the lessons I’ve learned
on the path I’ve travelled this far. I
will go forward with memories in my mind that can guide me on the new path I
will take. But if I am able, I will
attempt to leave behind the wounds and the nightmares that I have always chosen
to let plague me.
I did a lot of reading while I was on Christmas break. And many of these books were dove-tailing
towards the same concepts. You have to
learn the lessons from what you’ve experienced, but once they are over, you
have to let them go.
Let them go.
I am not one to let anything go. My mistakes haunt me forever, while I
discount my successes that have occurred in the same history. It is a sad pattern to inflict, but as I’ve
learned this is not uncommon among humanity.
And the lesson that goes with it is to stop the nonsense.
Stop the nonsense.
Remember your successes as equal as you would be haunted by
your failures. Neither of which should
inhibit you from following a new path into the unknown. Live life, don’t stay at home watching
re-runs of your perceived dismal failure.
You have to get out there, live life, and fill your memory with . . . Memories! They won’t all be good but to risk failure is
to attempt glory.
So I’ll try. I began
writing this blog as a method of searching my soul after waving good bye to
someone. And part of me wants to say
that I never learned to live after that moment.
But I know that’s not true, and I’ve lived 10x in the 10 years since I
waved good bye, than I did in the almost 30 that came before that moment. Both pieces of knowledge I will put in the
vault, then I will go out to attack this new year with a fresh vigor.
Here I go. Reborn
when I never ceased to exist. If you
happen to catch me along the way, be sure to encourage. It’s a daring adventure I’ve promised myself
but that’s not to say I wouldn’t appreciate a kind word along the way

When a potential liability was pointed out in our design I didn't instinctively react defensively but critically analyzed the problem and agreed that it was a problem.
At 10 o'clock at night I cleaned up the mess left from my deep frying, put away the last of the dishes in the dishwasher and turned it on.

My deep-fried Oreo's were so popular, my Dad took the leftovers home.
