After an disturbingly slow start, I ended up finishing the day by filling in every column of my daily tracking with a non-zero.

After an disturbingly slow start, I ended up finishing the day by filling in every column of my daily tracking with a non-zero.
A Sign Of The Times
I was thinking about a problem this afternoon. I knew I was going to have to kill about 30 minutes, between the time I left the office and when my official "start" time was for the concert tonight. I have all this reading that I want to do daily, and the perfect solution would be to do some of if while I was waiting.
I didn't want to take an actual book with me, because there's always the chance I'd lose it/forget it/get it wet or in some way have that going wrong. However, I try to read one work-related article a day, and my plan for today was to read this PDF file that I had.
The day was winding to a close and I wasn't going to get the PDF read before I left the office. But how to take it with me, since I didn't have it in iTunes, and there was no simple/easy solution to get it onto my phone so I could read it.
I must have spent 20-30 minutes puzzling over this problem, of having a PDF on file, that I wanted to read while I waited, before I came to the startling revelation that I could just print it out on paper and take it with me that way.

Saskatchewan Bucket List
I really recommend, if you can find copy, that all Saskatchewan-ites read the book "The Great Saskatchewan Bucket List". It's primarily a picture/travel book. Reading it won't make you feel like you consumed a novel. You can go through 3 or 4 sites in a handful of minutes so its easy to read.
I'm trying to find words to express why its good. I find it inspiring. Each location opens up with a feature picture and I am astonished, and moved, to realize that these are all places from where I call "home".
I want to travel. Not to the far away places that I have. Which all have their own appeal. But many of these locations in the book are reachable with only a Saturday's travel. And the pictures are magnificent. I don't pretend to be a professional photographer on par with what's in this book. But I've always thought that if I take 100 pictures of a place, 3-4 are going to be outstanding.
What draws me in now, is the photo's I've seen of our far north. The Lake Athabasca region is mesmerizing to me. Uranium City isn't specifically featured in the book, but I so want to see it. However the most alluring pictures I found in the book were from the Athabasca Sand Dunes Provincial Wilderness Park. The massive sand dunes are unbelievable.
I just want to go! Somewhere, anywhere, but always "home".
